1) What’s the main goal of this Online map?
The main goal is to show Biddeford, Maine’s recreational sites. These include parks and boat launches.
2) In your own words, describe the process you followed to make a map using
I followed the steps given. This included downloading a file, saving my progress and changing the symbols for my maps features.
3) What kind of information are you able to find in the attribute table?
The real data needed for that point. This includes coordinates.
4) In page 18, under “Compare two examples” (Figure 1 and Figure 2), which pop-up do you think delivers the more meaningful and engaging experience and why?
Figure 2 conveys the information better. It is more organized and overall is more appealing than figure 1.
5) Can you think about any step throughout the whole process that you had more trouble with? Describe.
The only trouble I ran into was with downloading the CVS file onto my laptop.
6) Can you think of any application where you could use this web map when thinking about your career or interests?
In my career these maps are very useful for conveying information. In environmental science maps help shows geological features along with making information for the public easier to understand.
7) Discuss what other layers of information you would add to improve the goal of this map.
I believe adding the hours of operation and costs would be beneficial to the public.
