The second essay that was based on art and science and the relationship between them was one of my favorite essays to write. My first draft is completely different from my final essay. I was worried that I couldn’t find my voice, or my stance on the prompt. My global edits were changing my thesis and removing most of my first draft. When writing my final draft I found that I connected to the prompt more than I initially thought. I write poems often as a way to distress and get out my feelings. Using that in my essay along with writing about what I am passionate about helped me to write the paper even better than before. The local edits focused around spelling, grammar and finding sentences to change or reword. Knowing what to cut and change within an essay is important because sometimes lots of words can cloud an argument. Global edits focus mainly on the main points of an essay that need reviosn and finding what about your thesis and essay could use fundamental changing. Local edits focus on grammatical errors and almost acts to polish an essay. Both are needed in order to write a great essay, that is effective and understandable to the reader.
